Prof. Dr. Shamsa Humayun


Professor Shamsa Humayun has more than 20 years of clinical and teaching experience. She is heading a teaching unit in Sir Ganga Ram hospital, Lahore, the busiest obstetrics and gynecology department of the city with annual births of 23,000. The average turnover of outpatient department is approximately 700 to 1,000 patients per day. Besides provision of emergency obstetric care and general gynecology, infertility clinic, high risk pregnancy clinic and family planning clinic work under her supervision. Research is part and parcel of patient care and every year publications are generated and published in reputable medical journals. She is actively involved in teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. She is master instructor of ALSO course organized by College of physicians and surgeons Pakistan. She is proficient in almost all types of obstetrics and gynecological diagnostic and operative procedures.


Specialized training in Infertility and endoscopy. Actively involved in teaching, training, patient care and research. Always remain up to date with latest techniques and innovations in the field. Knowledge and information obtained from international and national conferences and CME activities is used to improve patient management and care.


Currently working as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Fatima Jinnah Medical University Lahore. Visiting consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist in Surgimed Hospital Lahore for past 15 years.
